Church Adoption Funds
Many believers are stepping out in faith and following God’s direction to care for orphans and expand their families through adoption, yet these families often are discouraged by seemingly insurmountable financial obstacles along the way. By establishing adoption funds, local churches can directly minister to their own church families by removing the financial barriers so often faced by adoptive families. At The ABBA Fund, we desire to use our experience and passion
for adoption to assist churches in establishing and administering church adoption funds. We provide our services at no charge to the church so that every dollar contributed will be used to assist families in their time of need.

Why should a church consider establishing an Adoption Fund?
 • Establishing an adoption fund provides an opportunity for the church to become engaged in the Scriptural mandate to care for orphans.
• An adoption fund provides a tangible means for the church to support and provide for the financial needs of families adopting.
• Adoption funds further enable adoptions to happen, providing the opportunity to reach across the globe and bring children into homes where the Gospel is proclaimed.

What is involved?
• By using The ABBA Fund’s existing loan and grant process the local church is able to make adoptions possible by offering interest-free loans and matching grants:
• Interest-Free Loans
• Many people feel they have the resources to meet the financial obligations of an adoption over a period of
time, but they cannot afford to pay all of those obligations up front. An adoption loan fund allows families to
bridge the financial gap by making the necessary funds available up front and providing reasonable repayment plans.
 • A church adoption loan fund becomes a self-sustaining program which can benefit many fami-
lies over time with the same funds, because as loan repayments are received they are
recirculated into new adoption loans for other qualified couples within the church.
• Loan funds enable couples to make use of the Federal Adoption tax credit of up to $11,650 per
child (While adoption grants can certainly be beneficial, adoption payments made with grant
funds are not eligible for the tax credit).
• Matching Grants
• Matching grants provide families with a “support raising” process to help them gather prayer and
financial support for their adoption. The funds raised are matched “dollar-for-dollar” up to a specified amount.

What are the benefits of establishing a church adoption fund in partnership with The ABBA Fund?
 • By using The ABBA Fund’s existing loan and grant process (i.e. qualifying families on mutually agreed upon criteria, disbursing and administrating funds, receipts etc.) an organization eliminates the need to re-create the wheel in establishing a Fund or create it’s own 501(c)(3).
• The organization can establish a fully-functioning adoption fund ministry without the added burden of administering a new program.
• The ABBA Fund offers tremendous flexibility for a church to be as involved, or uninvolved, as it wishes regarding fund administration.
• Since The ABBA Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all donations are 100% tax-deductible as allowed by law. The ABBAFund is a member of the ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability)

How else can my church partner with The ABBA Fund?
• Missions - The ABBA Fund would like to be a part of your Missions ministry/budget. Donations will assist in our operations so that we can continue to serve families, children, and churches around the country and that everydollar donated for adoption will go towards interest-free loans and grants.
• Prayer - The most important way you can support us is through praying.
