1 MoreMarlar

My husband,Beck, and I had always talked about adopting two children after having two biological children. After a few years of trying to began our family we quickly realized that our plan for our family was not the same as Gods plan for our family.

When we began to look into adopting we quickly realized that the cost for adoption was very high and at that point we were discouraged about the journey ahead of us. Thankfully we joined our agency, adopted our first son in May of 2011, and joined the Chosen race in October of 2011 right after. Thankfully we were able to fund our adoption for our first son with the help of the Chosen Marathon and all the family and friends that ran for Judah! On top of the chosen race we found out that my husbands work gave an adoption benefit. Before we knew it our sons adoption was paid for…God did more than we could ever ask or imagine with our first adoption.

When our son turned three we began to feel ready for more children and we began to pray to see how God would grow our family again. We were prayerfully considering fostering to adopt when we got a call from our agency asking if we would like to get back into the system. Also at that same time a friend of ours reached out to see if we were interested in adopting again. She knew of a young mother who was pregnant for the second time and was looking for a good home. After looking at other life books our birth mother still chose our family to be her daughters forever home. Our daughter, Eva, was born on September 19th, 2014 and our lives were forever changed again. Our family is complete for now until God stirs in our hearts to grow our family again. It’s been a beautiful picture to talk about open adoption with our son, and with so much love and excitement he has taken on the role of big brother! He loves his sister deeply already and showers her with lots of hugs and kisses daily, and sometimes hourly!!!

We created our team 1More Marlar before she was born knowing that we could recruit our family and friends to run for another Marlar baby that would be born soon. We quickly had our friends not only signing up but recruiting their friends to run with them. I will be running the race with their kids aunt, and uncle and being cheered on by many other friends and family. So if you haven’t already signed up please do so, or prayerfully consider donating to our general fund and help us with the financial burden of adoption fees. We do not fear the cost of adoption because their is no fear in love and we have seen God move mountains before with our first adoption! And right now the Marlar house us full of love, and we are trusting him once again!

Using the online form on this page automatically submits a request to preference your gift to the family profiled on this page as part of ABBA Fund’s Christian Family Adoption Grant Fund. ABBA Fund administers this fund and maintains full control and administration of all donated funds. We also strive to honor our donor’s preference requests in accordance with IRS and Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) guidelines.
As required by IRS regulations, any tax-deductible donation is made to the charitable organization (ABBA Fund) and not the individual (family) — otherwise it is a non-deductible gift and should be given directly to the family.

Every gift into the Christian Family Adoption Grant Fund is helping reduce the financial burden of adoption for families that have qualified for support from ABBA Fund — including the family listed above in their online Family Adoption Fund profile.

The IRS allows donors to state a preference of how their contribution is used and request that the gift support a particular family — and it allows the charitable organization (ABBA Fund) to fully consider that request as long as the donor understands and acknowledges for charitably given tax-deductible gifts that the ultimate authority regarding the disposition of your gift is at the discretion of the charitable organization. By using this online form, or other method described above, you are acknowledging an understanding of those IRS guidelines.

ABBA Fund is grateful for each donation given to the Christian Family Adoption Grant Fund, and broad participation in the fund helps ensure that ABBA Fund is able to assist each approved family with the grant and loan funds preferenced to reduce the financial burden of their adoption.

ABBA Fund, a 501(c)(3) ministry, has provided more than $5.4 million in grants and interest-free loans to help 972 orphans become sons and daughters in 780 Christian families since 2004 (as of fall 2014) — with more adoptions being assisted every month.
