Amy King

One of God’s main titles, all throughout scripture, is that of a “Father to the Fatherless”. One of the commands we receive as his followers is to be “imitators of Christ.” If you weave these two realities together then our call to care for & be a voice for the orphan and vulnerable children is very clear.

Early church history is replete with references to the fact that believers and especially church leaders were involved in caring for the orphan. Over the years, I believe that the church has outsourced and relinquished much of it’s responsibility. It is my desire and I believe my calling to play a part in helping believers & churches take back their calling to the least of these.

Early on in my involvement in orphan care God very clearly placed Proverbs 31:8 on my heart: “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute”. As I seek to embrace this scripture as a calling I ask that you would prayerfully consider joining me through prayer and/or financial contribution. I am not able to do this without a team and I ask that you would consider joining mine!

TEthiopiao DONATE BY MAIL, please send your check to:

ABBA Fund, PO BOX 868049, Plano, TX 75086-8049

(Please do not write the missionary’s name on your check because that negates the charitable aspect of your gift. Please print out this page or write a personal note to enclose with the check in order to request that ABBA Fund preference your gift toward this missionary’s work. As explained below, charitable gifts are made out to ABBA Fund who as the charity has full control over all donated funds.)

Using the online form on this page automatically submits a request to preference your gift to the missionary profiled on this page as part of ABBA Fund’s work to fulfill our mission. ABBA Fund maintains full control and administration of all donated funds. We also strive to honor our donor’s preference requests in accordance with IRS and Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) guidelines.

As required by IRS regulations, any tax-deductible donation is made to the charitable organization (ABBA Fund) and not the individual (missionary) — otherwise it is a non-deductible gift and should be given directly to the missionary as a gift. The IRS allows donors to state a preference of how their contribution is used and request that the gift support a particular family — and it allows the charitable organization (ABBA Fund) to fully consider that request as long as the donor understands and acknowledges for charitably given tax-deductible gifts that the ultimate authority regarding the disposition of your gift is at the discretion of the charitable organization. By using this online form, or other method described above, you are acknowledging an understanding of those IRS guidelines.

ABBA Fund is grateful for each donation given to our work to provide adoption assistance to Christian families. ABBA Fund, a 501(c)(3) ministry, has provided more than $5.4 million in grants and interest-free loans to help 972 orphans become sons and daughters in 780 Christian families since 2004 (as of fall 2014) — with more adoptive families being encouraged and assisted every month.
