Eckert Family Adoption

July 2017 Update

Friends and Family,
It is July 2017 and we have just received some bad news. Most of you know we have been working with an adoption agency out of Longview, Chosen Child, for almost 2 years now on our pursuit of adoption. We found out last month that the agency is closing and all pending families are being transitioned to another agency out of Tyler, Texas. This leaves us with many unanswered questions and anxious hearts. We know this is happening for a reason and we are doing our best to remain submissive to the Lord’s Will. We are so grateful for each of you and we will keep you posted. Love you.

Now you know our hearts and story, and that there is a “missing piece” to our family’s puzzle. We love the idea of a puzzle fundraiser to help with some of the financial burden and, more importantly, create a keepsake for our child of all the family and friends who love and support him/her. Here is how it works:

1. We had a 252-piece puzzle created on Zazzle with a saying and verse near and dear to our hearts and this journey.

2. We are asking family and friends to “sponsor” each piece for $25. You can choose how many you want to sponsor.

3. To sponsor a puzzle piece, simply use the donation form below. Using this form will automatically notify ABBA Fund that you want to preference your gift to us!Eckert Puzzle Picture

4. For each puzzle piece you sponsor, we will not only write your name (or scripture) on that piece(s). We will also send you a picture and keep you up to date on our adoption progress so you can pray with us.

5. Once complete, we will finish the puzzle and display it in a double-sided glass frame in our child’s room. We will always be able to look back and be reminded of who had a “piece” in praying, supporting, and bringing our child home!

We are still patiently waiting for our adoption match. This basically means, a birth mom choosing us through the agency process. We know God has a plan for our lives and His timing is perfect. We ask that you would pray for patience and obedience as we faithfully wait on the Lord’s plan. We have the baby room ready and Ally is excited to be a big sister! We want to thank all of you who have sponsored puzzle pieces, encouraged us, helped us, and most importantly prayed for us, the birth mom, and God’s child!

We are thankful for your prayers, encouragement, and support.

Love you – Marcus, Jen, and Ally.

To DONATE BY MAIL, please make out the check to ABBA Fund (do not write the family name on the physical check, which will invalidate the charitable aspect of your gift … instead either print out this page to send with it or include a separate note to request that we preference your gift toward the family profiled on this page) — then mail your check and preference request to:

ABBA Fund, PO BOX 868049, Plano, TX 75086-8049

Using the online form on this page automatically submits a request to preference your gift to the family profiled on this page as part of ABBA Fund’s Christian Family Adoption Grant Fund. ABBA Fund administers this fund and maintains full control and administration of all donated funds. We also strive to honor our donor’s preference requests in accordance with IRS and Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) guidelines.

The IRS allows donors to state a preference of how their contribution is used and request that the gift support a particular family — and it allows the charitable organization (ABBA Fund) to fully consider that request as long as the donor understands and acknowledges for charitably given tax-deductible gifts that the ultimate authority regarding the disposition of your gift is at the discretion of the charitable organization. By using this online form, or other method described above, you are acknowledging an understanding of those IRS guidelines.

As required by IRS regulations, any tax-deductible donation is made to the charitable organization (ABBA Fund) and not the individual (family) — otherwise it is a non-deductible gift and should be given directly to the family. Every gift into the Christian Family Adoption Grant Fund is helping reduce the financial burden of adoption for families that have qualified for adoption assistance from ABBA Fund.

ABBA Fund is grateful for each donation given to the Christian Family Adoption Grant Fund, and broad participation in the fund helps ensure that ABBA Fund is able to assist each approved family with the grant and loan funds preferenced to reduce the financial burden of their adoption. ABBA Fund, a 501(c)(3) ministry, has provided more than $6.5 million in grants and interest-free loans to help 1,012 orphans become sons and daughters in 912 Christian families since 2004 (as of early 2015) — with more adoptions being assisted every month.
