Siebert Family Adoption

Faith and I (Mark) live in Spruce Grove, Alberta where I serve as a local youth pastor. Early in our marriage we discovered that God had special plans for us to be adoptive parents. We have been married since 1999 and have adopted three amazing kids: Micah (12), Aslynn (9) and Judah (7). Each child knows the story of our deep love for them, a love so deep that we would go to the ends of the earth to bring them into our family. Today, they are a part of that same love that we have for their brother and sister who live in the Congo.

Our current adoption journey began in December 2012. Prior to this, we had been with another agency since 2008 without a referral. We believe God brought us through this heartache so He could shape our hearts in a new way, an unexpected and daring way. We sensed that we were supposed to go somewhere that we would never have imagined before. After assessing the risks and researching our options, this dream led us to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Today we have adopted two beautiful children from the DRC but are unable to bring them home yet. Even with the adoptions finalized, there is still a major hurdle to clear. Please pray that the government agencies involved would allow our children to come home soon. With in-country foster care fees mounting, we are struggling to make ends meet. Because of this, we are grateful for organizations like ABBA.

After more than a year of pursuing many grants without much success, the ABBA Fund came to us. Their love for us in this way reminds me of how we have passionately pursued our children, the way God has passionately pursued us as His children. It is relentless, daring and pure; God’s love is our family’s hope and strength.

You can share in this love with us. Please help support our deeply loved children until we can be united. Through your prayers and donations, God will make a way. He is writing a new story of His love going to the ends of the earth to bring two children into our forever family.

**AN IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION FROM ABBA FUND ABOUT YOUR DONATION**
Using the online form on this page automatically submits a request to preference your gift to the family profiled on this page as part of ABBA Fund’s Christian Family Adoption Grant Fund. ABBA Fund administers this fund and maintains full control and administration of all donated funds. We also strive to honor our donor’s preference requests in accordance with IRS and Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) guidelines.

As required by IRS regulations, any tax-deductible donation is made to the charitable organization (ABBA Fund) and not the individual (family) — otherwise it is a non-deductible gift and should be given directly to the family.

Every gift into the Christian Family Adoption Grant Fund is helping reduce the financial burden of adoption for families that have qualified for support from ABBA Fund — including the family listed above in their online Family Adoption Fund profile.

The IRS allows donors to state a preference of how their contribution is used and request that the gift support a particular family — and it allows the charitable organization (ABBA Fund) to fully consider that request as long as the donor understands and acknowledges for charitably given tax-deductible gifts that the ultimate authority regarding the disposition of your gift is at the discretion of the charitable organization. By using this online form, or other method described above, you are acknowledging an understanding of those IRS guidelines.

ABBA Fund is grateful for each donation given to the Christian Family Adoption Grant Fund, and broad participation in the fund helps ensure that ABBA Fund is able to assist each approved family with the grant and loan funds preferenced to reduce the financial burden of their adoption.

ABBA Fund, a 501(c)(3) ministry, has provided more than $5.4 million in grants and interest-free loans to help 972 orphans become sons and daughters in loving, nurturing homes through assistance to 827 Christian families since 2004 (as of fall 2014) — with more adoptions being assisted every month.
