Lee Family Adoption

Whichever One Fits – Lee

Adoption has always been a vital part of our family. Ann is adopted, and through this process she was placed in a loving home that raised her to be Godly woman who loves her family. For Shaun, the desire to adopt came when he was seventeen working as a missionary in Ukraine, there he saw the need for adoption. James 1:27 tells us that as Christians we are “to visit orphans and widows.” Shaun, Ann and Hannah feel the call not only to visit them, but also to call them our own.

The journey began in December of 2013. Then with the Spirit leading, Ann presented Shaun with the idea to adopt. There was no hesitation at all. Throughout 2014 they worked to raise money and pay for their Home Study. Shaun took on an extra job as a Youth Pastor Intern and Ann started to sell Jamberry nails. Even our 8-year-old daughter, Hannah, was willing to give up her allowance for the cause. In October, Shaun, with a team of friends, ran the Chosen 10 in Charlotte. After a lot of hard work, and Shaun’s sore legs, they were able to pay for the Home Study.

Now they need help again. Their Home Study is complete. Shaun and Ann are working with an agency in South Carolina. They are raising money to become a family in waiting. Once that is achieved they will work with their agency to be teamed up with a birthmother. They are working diligently with several different fundraising ideas. You can see what fundraisers are coming next through their Facebook page “Whicheveronefits.” Thank you for your prayers and support.

To DONATE BY MAIL, please make out the check to ABBA Fund (do not write the family name on the physical check, which will invalidate the charitable aspect of your gift … instead either print out this page to send with it or include a separate note to request that we preference your gift toward the family profiled on this page) — then mail your check and preference request to:

ABBA Fund, PO BOX 868049, Plano, TX 75086-8049

Using the online form on this page automatically submits a request to preference your gift to the family profiled on this page as part of ABBA Fund’s Christian Family Adoption Grant Fund. ABBA Fund administers this fund and maintains full control and administration of all donated funds. We also strive to honor our donor’s preference requests in accordance with IRS and Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) guidelines.

The IRS allows donors to state a preference of how their contribution is used and request that the gift support a particular family — and it allows the charitable organization (ABBA Fund) to fully consider that request as long as the donor understands and acknowledges for charitably given tax-deductible gifts that the ultimate authority regarding the disposition of your gift is at the discretion of the charitable organization. By using this online form, or other method described above, you are acknowledging an understanding of those IRS guidelines.

As required by IRS regulations, any tax-deductible donation is made to the charitable organization (ABBA Fund) and not the individual (family) — otherwise it is a non-deductible gift and should be given directly to the family. Every gift into the Christian Family Adoption Grant Fund is helping reduce the financial burden of adoption for families that have qualified for adoption assistance from ABBA Fund.

ABBA Fund is grateful for each donation given to the Christian Family Adoption Grant Fund, and broad participation in the fund helps ensure that ABBA Fund is able to assist each approved family with the grant and loan funds preferenced to reduce the financial burden of their adoption. ABBA Fund, a 501(c)(3) ministry, has provided more than $6.5 million in grants and interest-free loans to help 1,012 orphans become sons and daughters in 912 Christian families since 2004 (as of early 2015) — with more adoptions being assisted every month.
